Dave Schindele
was born on the West Coast but lived most of his childhood on the East Coast and now lives on the Middle Coast. He's always written poetry and composed music, but has been doing it most fully for about five years.
Dave and his siblings grew up in a very musical environment. Dave's mother had a lovely if quiet voice and a great feel for music. She saw to it that Dave had a chance to hear Hardunger fiddles and Broadway shows and the Metropolitan Opera and Radio City and a
thousand other musical things, and also that he had piano lessons.
Dave's father played and plays the flute, the piccolo, the piano, the harmonica, all with joy, fun and passion. He used to play the piano downstairs when Dave was falling off to sleep upstairs. Dave's brother, Bill, is a great trombonist. He could have gone professional if he'd wanted to. His younger sister, Debbie, has a wonderful voice and has soloed many times in choral performances. She plays the guitar very well and took piano lessons for a number of years as a child. Her voice is so soothing she's made a good living as a hypnotherapist. Dave's sister Pam, has the best ear in the family. If she likes something musical, you can count on it being excellent.
So, Dave was lucky when it came to the family he was born into. They surrounded him with heart, ability and discipline.
